Garuka Bars

A few Vermonters hand making the tastiest energy bars by hand, using recyclable packaging, and donating 1% to mountain gorilla conservation.

The Garuka Goal.

Garuka Bars® is named after one of the few remaining mountain gorillas ranging the volcanic forests of the Virunga Massif in Rwanda. Garuka, roughly translated from Kinyarwanda as “Return Well”, needs protection and you need all-natural energy. We’re working on both. The bars are packed full of simple, wholesome ingredients, and a percentage of each sale goes towards gorilla conservation. So, when you choose to pick up a Garuka Bar® to return your energy, you’re also supporting a cause to return well the future of the mountain gorilla.

About the bars.

Garuka Bars are made by hand each and every week, using delicious, wholesome ingredients like raw honey, whole peanuts, dried cranberries, and brown rice crisps. The result is a bar that is actually enjoyable to eat, and still gives you the energy you need to see your adventure through.

If you take a peek through the clear, recyclable packaging, you'll notice something a little different - you can see each and every ingredient! Mixed and pressed by hand, you'll easily be able to pick out what's in each bite. This keeps each bar delightfully light and chewy, but still packs an energy punch (and 6g of protein).
